Beastly and Betrayed

The second book in the House of Night series, Betrayed was once again a very intriguing read. It was refreshing to re-read this book and remember everything that happened in the story. Zoey is back again in her next adventure, things at the House of Night are beginning to become dodgy, especially when high school boys begin vanishing near the school. Zoey has a new boyfriend, the very gorgeous Erik Night. Sadly, Heath is still part of the picture, Zoey's human ex-boyfriend. But, aside from it all, Zoey still has her best friend, Stevie Rae, her cat Nala and all the rest of her new friends who turned the House of Night into a home, the Twins (Shaunee and Erin) and the adorable gay boy Damien. And yes, Zoey is betrayed, but you'll have to read to find out who it is that betrays her. ;)

Beastly is a new modern spin on Beauty and the Beast and is also now a movie. I read this novel in six hours and because I read so slow, reading a novel in six hours is a huge accomplishment for me. The story revolves around Kyle Kingsley, a super gorgeous private school King. His father is a big shot News Anchor who thinks of no one else but himself (selfish bastard). Kyle is taking after his father, so, he's also selfish and thinks of only himself. When Kyle ends up upsetting the wrong person (a witch in disguise), he finds himself transformed into a beast, complete with tons of hair, fangs and claws. Like Beauty and the Beast, Kyle has so much time to have someone fall in love with him. In this case, two years. The story is very interesting and I found myself sucked into the story and unable to stop reading. I very much enjoyed Beastly and was very pleased with the ending. I have to say though, I'm quite excited to see the movie. :)
